This ain't so new, the only new bit is the 18 inch. When I was shopping around for a graphics tablet, wacom had a 15 inch (or something like that) cintiq. Still damn expensive though. Much easier to do what I did - get an el-cheapo Nisis graphics tablet (minus the screen of course, but that's no problem, a little hand-eye co-ordination and it's easy to work with), A4 for well under £100. Looks cool, acts cool, pressure sensitive, and it has a higher resolution than the Wacom Intuos2 tablets. Sure, its tracking can be a little iffy on a low battery, but the hell, just use recharchables.
And the coolest bit, found out by accident, I can run micro R/C cars across the surface and it responds ^_^
