Its based on the book of the same name "Stalker" written a while back by this russian writer. Basically it was about a desolate area called the zone where there were these guys called stalkers who basically worked as guides for rich people or people who wanted to take a visit to the room where all truths would be given or a wish granted. Its quite a psychodelic book with lots of pop philosophy. Good read. But doesen't really have action in it. So I'm interested in how they do this.
