Anybody have any idea where i can get FRED and the tutorials for it? All help would be greatly appreciated.

I got a CD ripped Kazaa version of the game... was going to buy it but nobody carries it anymore :( Can you point me to a link to download it... preferabley one without 80,000,000 ads that come up every 2 seconds.

Just DL the SCP version.  Sure, it'll have extra stuff, but it's the easiest option I can think of.  no tuturoial, though.....

I just noticed i had FRED all along :mad: but didnt notice it. My only problem is HOW DO I ADD A SHIP. :hopping:

Don't ask a single question about FREd until you've read the tutorial, and the instructions.

And PLEEEASE don't ask how to make the beams fire.:D

The original Voltion Help well hides the function of placing a new ship, as I know it is only in the last phase of 'now, create your own mission based on the previos sections.'

I don't remember if FRED help would write down how to make beams work.

If you have any more questions, see Karajoma's tutorial, or my help document(the things written down at Kara and at me would help you.)

you should definately start with the walkthrough in the FRED docs first. It really will teach you all the basics. Then move on and have a look at TopAce's guide and my own FAQ to see how to do some of the more advanced stuff.


You can also get some help from the Freespace Reference guide and ZylonBane's Beam FAQ (Both of which are linked to in my FAQ)
