I want to test a Mission so I pleaced me above the scene...but the enemy fighters still shoot at me. So I ask if its possible that all ships ignore me...so that I am just a watcher...not an actor.

try setting Alpha 1 to Invincible, beam protected and for the heck of it, Invisible.  try any SEXP to make ALpha 1 protected.

A combination of protected, beam-protected and invulnerbility  should make it pretty safe to just sit and watch the mission.

Isn't there no way to tell the other ships just to ignore me completly?

They should pretty much ignore a protected ship anyway. You could give them ignore orders but that would be pretty tedious to do and then remove.

Sounds a lot like my in-engine-cutscene idea.

I get the feeling that the idea is to watch the battle to see if everything is scripted correctly rather than having it this way in the final mission.

Protect-ship is telling all others to ignore whoever is being protected.
Sesqu... Sesqui... what?

It helps if you're in a stealth fighter, too. Don't forget you can view from other ships in the area, as well.

If you unextract the 'Playing Judas' mission from the vp of FS1, you can see it only uses the 'Protect ship' on Alpha 1. If it doesn't work for you, I have no other suggestions for you. Do not set the 'hidden from sensor' property, it gives you minimal protection, the Ai can see everything.
