I've been messing around it the tables and i want to know if it possible to give different sounds to the normal warp and the warp used by the knossos event?

I don't think it would be a table change to give different sound effect for normal and special jumps. But if it is possible to change the warp graphical effect, it is surely possible to change the sound effect, too.

i have already managed to change the warp effect but it is the sounds that are bugging me i can't seem to change them. Having two different warps effects with the same sound is annoying at least for me:)

Somebody from Source Coding might be able to help us, post the same to SCP, too.

that has been bugging me too!
I mean not everyone enters subspace the same way (process)... There should be a seperate sound for all three races. Terrans should keep same sound, new one for vasudans and shivans (make the shivans sound REally creepy! (like a shadow scream or something?) ;7

That would be pretty sweet - it probably ain't too hard, you'd have to have a "warp noise" flag in each ship's tbl entry, like there is for engine noise. I'm positive this could be done very easily. Post it to the SCP forum.

And how good idea is it to have the Shivans a redish warp effect? Or is it stupid?

This depends on whether or not you think that different races enter sub-space using different methods. Or, perhaps you think that there is only one way to access sub-space, and thus each race's technology is similar in terms of what it does.

As far as we know, the blue effect is a product of the process of entering sub-sapce, not a signature of the technology involved (though of course the Knossos effect is green and contradicts that idea). I personally don't think the Shivans would look or act any different from us or the Vausdans when using sub-space technology, because sub-space is sub-space from wherever you sit. The whole Knossos thing is a bit different, though, since the technology is barely understood, but if the visuals are different than I think it's reasonable to say there might be a different sound effect too. Not that you'd acually be able to hear it in space, but hey :)

Yeah, Like how you can hear the differnce between warp drive, and the Borg Trans-warp... Both enter subspace, but differently!

Done:)

Diamondgeezer is right. The technology to enter subspace is the same for all races, but because the Shivans are more advanced the could have a improved subspace drive, superior to the Terran and Vasudan ones, the changes for the Shivans could be a more clean warp effect(less fluctuations for example) and a different sound effect.

I mean it's like Star Trek - warp drive is warp drive whereever you go. There are exceptions like the Borg's trans-wapr thingy, but for the most part warp is a common theory.

I would only imagine better Shivan subspace drives as they are faster(it takes less time to reach the end of the subspace tunnel, Good Luck mission, you have 10 minutes.) and recharges faster, ready to make another jump.

As we know, Shivans are also relied(<- past of rely? :)) on jump nodes, and this made the GTVA a chance to seal them off at Capella, but I have seen(like everybody) SJs jumping out before Capella sun went boom.

I fail to see your point here. They could easily have been jumping out to the Gamma Draconis node.

My pont was that we have seen the SJ jump out with the same effect like any Terrans and Vasudans. This simple :)

Otherwise I knew I am not understandable the way I wrote.
