I am going to make a mission for the Inferno Archives where you and your wingmen have to fly original Hercs armed with Subach HL-7s and Harpoons against Cyones and four Clarius freighters. You have to disable the convoy before they reach the node.

Readding some of the FS2 stuff might not be possible without our modified exes since we where very close to the ship table limit with r1, adding the herc might break it.

I added the Manticore, Demon, Basilisk, and Ravana and fs2_open 3.5 didn't break.:D

Anything that requires fsopen won't work with later INF releases, and hence won't be allowed in the archives.
Try it with normal fred and fs2.

Eh?  Whyever not?  We're trying to make fs2_open as compatible as possible with everything out there.

FS Open doesn't have extended ship limits. Once we break the limit, it can't be used.

 
Yes. A few of us have tested FSOpen with our full TBLs and it doesn't work properly for any of us.

Get someone to raise the FS2_Open ship limit to 400 and make a 3.5-based EXE release. Then we'll all be happy. I'll combine the FSPort TBLs with the Inferno ones to make a huge ship selection from 2335 to 2400.

Oh, right... that's because whenever we change the ship limit it breaks multiplayer.  Once we get that fixed, we'll be able to make the ship limit as high as you want. :D

I think we'd support FSOpen if it didn't have so many problems. Vanilla FS2 and our slightly modified versions seem to work for everyone, so they're the only versions of the game we support. I'd love to use some of the SCP's new features, but as it stands there are just too many headaches. For instance I can't even get glowmaps to work in any other mode than OpenGL, and the textures in that are so pixellated it looks like software rendering!

Maybe if things are cleared up in the distant future INF2 might support it.

i don't know if the large texture reg hacks were re-enabled for DX upgrades.

as for glowmaps, a recent code update took them out for D3D.
