Just saw The League of Extrordanary (sp?) Gentleman...
Most children's roles in cartoons are done by women. That's why said characters never age after multiple seasons.

The story wasn't bad. The effects rocked. The character were incredible. Its totally worth seeing.

The main characters, btw, were:

-Alan Quartermain (british adventurer)
-Mina Harker (the girl Dracula had a crush on, now a kickass vampire)
-The Invisible Man (duh)
-Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde (they also lay Hyde in as the monkey from the Murder at the Rue Morgue)
-Captain Nemo (20k Leagues under the Sea)
-Tom Sawyer (Mark Twain's little troublemaker)
-Dorian Gray (Oscar Wilde's character. He didn't age, but his portrait did. Moore made him invulnerable, until he sees his portrait)
-M. (Yeah. The Bond Guy. Sorta. Well, you'll see)

Anyone who tell syou it sucked, obviously didn't realize they were watching late-19th century superhero comic book. :)

Well who M really is of course is out of Sherlock Holmes ;) Shanghai Knights sort of also did the same thing as League did to death. (Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, Charlie Chaplain, etc. in addition to "John Wayne")

Well yes, but I didn't want to ruin the groovy plot point, Ace.
[I am not really here. This post is entirely a figment of your imagination.]

I haven't seen LXG yet, but it's currently ranking 5.7 at IMDB, 19% at Rotten Tomatoes, and low across the board at MRQE.

Yah, I think I'll catch this one on video. Or USA Up All Night.

Bah, that's just the thing! You now have very low expectations of the movie - a perfect situation to be able to go to the theater and enjoy it - you know it's mediocre at best! :p

"...The quintessential quality of our age is that of dreams coming true. Just think of it. For centuries we have dreamt of flying; recently we made that come true: we have always hankered for speed; now we have speeds greater than we can stand: we wanted to speak to far parts of the Earth; we can: we wanted to explore the sea bottom; we have: and so  on, and so on: and, too, we wanted the power to smash our enemies utterly; we have it. If we had truly wanted peace, we should have had that as well. But true peace has never been one of the genuine dreams - we have got little further than preaching against war in order to appease our consciences. The truly wishful dreams, the many-minded dreams are now irresistible - they become facts." - 'The Outward Urge' by John Wyndham

"The very essence of tolerance rests on the fact that we have to be intolerant of intolerance. Stretching right back to Kant, through the Frankfurt School and up to today, liberalism means that we can do anything we like as long as we don't hurt others. This means that if we are tolerant of others' intolerance - especially when that intolerance is a call for genocide - then all we are doing is allowing that intolerance to flourish, and allowing the violence that will spring from that intolerance to continue unabated." - Bren Carlill
