It was more work than I thought, but It's so much larger than the original V one. So in theory, it should look better.

It's at maximum compression, the file inside is 8... It's the standard explosion, just 864 x 864, IIRC

You have got to make all of the fs2 stuff higher-res, especially the crappy textures (why make fs2 textures worse than fs1?)

ok, no offense but I think a lot of people would really like it if you could  have a readme or something telling those who don't yet know how FS2 exactly works where these files go....

After taking a look at the 'high-res' effect, I was left with a great idea.  What we really need is a completely new set of high res effects, without the nasty pixel stretching found in this.  I'm sure they exist, but downloading them would be a pain.

Making them is the pain, do you know how hard it was to get that file looking like that? You should have seen the original.

Besides, it'd look better in game with anti-aliasing, and having been shrunken down... I doubt anyone will actually see the full 864 x 864 version...
