Would it be possible to enable multiple trails and trail offsets for weapons?  As well as a random trails flag option that uses a random trail chosen from a table-specified list?

i can get the random thing, but i can't imagine the first two, elaborate please.

Well if I understand the system, a missile has a single trail down the center axis of the model. Multiple trails would be handy for bigger missiles with multiple engines perhaps, and offset trails would allow you to have those engines clustered around the center

mmm, perhaps it might be something, but i still find it somewhat hard to picture.

Why? Imagine if a ship could only have one thruster, located in the center of it's arse. It'd get boring very quickly. So you have multiple thrusters, and can put them in in different places. Same with missile trails. It's not hard kas mate.
