Hi all,
This was answered in the 3.5.5 "sticky" thread, but I could do with a little help. (Originally posted by Carl, bottom of page1)

when I double click the rar. this appears
"Direct 3D5 not supported...."

how do i change the mode ?

the original FS2retail launcher doesn't help. The "new" launcher (2.4) I downloaded from the same thread, the video tab is empty.

Send me an e-mail with a copy of a D3D caps file that the launcher generates and I'll look into it.

well, I get that error also, then it pops up a second window and that one has the right settings, although at a higher resolution then I prefer.  dang slow vidcard.

hey, whaddya know!? Mr Magatsu got it working. There's hope for him yet.
Looks mighty fine, and all those extra FRED bits'n' bobs.
