Are .rar and .zip license free?

I think rar would be the best choice too.
It creates really good compressed files with dictonary size set to 4096 and best compression.
And there as also a sfx creation module integrated so the people who download it don't even need rar to be installed :)

self extracting zip ain't, but the format itself is free to use AFAIK.
