Let me explain a few things.....
1) Since I am unable to use HT&L builds (I only have a NVIDA TNT2) for, possibly, a year or 2, any craft I make for myself has to work under the old limits (~750 ploys per subobject, including the hull). My Vasudan Cruiser is currently 646, so not much room. (once I have upgraded my graphics card, which might, just might, be with a month, then it's a whole diffrent kettle of fish)
2) I'm not sure HOW to smooth an object, never before had reason to ( I generally work on turrets and Terran ships, neither of which are, generally, smoothed)
3) I, Personally, prefer game play over looks, so I'd rather have something that was playable, rather than looked really, really good, but was totally unplayable.
Case in point, anyone remember 'Mechwarrior2' or 'Mechwarrior2:mercinares'? Both were quite bad in the graphics department (compared to today), but they were very playable. Mech2:mercs was my favorite game for a long till, even after graphical standards left in the dust.
I'd just better point out that those textures are stand ins, just to give it a Vasudan look, until I Lith the model.
