Should smg called Optimalization Modifier draw my attention??

It reduces number of faces....
Ie. from 600 to 300 without much difference in overal look.....
Or with HTL in mind should I spit pollies like MG 42??

Thanks....

Never tried it myself (not even sure if max 4 has it) - I tend to prefer the human eye over a computer anytime, though.  How's the UV affected?

You have to optimize before you UV.  In theory it preserves texture groups, but the mapping gets thrown completely out the window.  I'd say if it works without massing up your visual design, then go for it.  I find on my models, however, that it combines medium-sized polys but leaves all of the little ones right where they are, even if they are practically a sheet.
who needs a signature? ;)
It's not much of an excuse for a website, but my stuff can be found here
