Would it be possible to make the mainhall support multiple "rooms". I would find it incredibly more immersive if I could visit more parts of the ship I'm stationed on, like hangar, pilot quarters, brifing room bridge etc. with the ability to place hot spots there too ( e.g. you go to your private quaters and access your private computer = ship database, you go tho the pilot ready room, click on the simulator to play sim missions, etc, you get the meaning).
And would it be possible to add an additional hot spot for some kind of news/e-mail bulletin? It would help the immersiveness too and help with character development if private e-mails or news could be accessed. It can be done with command briefings tooo to a degree, but that seems unprofessional and awkward in my eyes. Thoughts?

the SCP team is afraid of the interface code, really afraid.

not as bad as the turreting or FRED code, but they're still afraid.

it was discussed as possible, IIRC, but the code freeze and all.....

Is the interface code just hard to understand or an unoptimized spaghetti mess like thge turret code?

not sure, both, i geuss.

there have been thoughts about converting the whole bloody mess into a nice tbl'd CSS like system, but no one was volunteering. and the code freeze will make sure no one will for now either.

I don't know about making new "rooms" but creating new hotspots isn't real hard.  Some coding changes must be made to actually make them do anything.  I haven't created any new areas but I have moved the sim and film room accessible in the mainhall instead of the tech room.  Honestly I'm not sure how the event system works for everything so I don't know how hard it would be to actually create new regions in the code.
