I doubt any jury would convict him though. It was in the heat of the moment. Had he waited till the next day and wondered down to the station with the intent of smacking the guy it would be a different matter.

Yeah totally, thing is, with drink drivers, they need a good ****ing smack in the mouth, there is absolutely no rationalisation for what they do.

I've said it before. Drunk drivers should be given a blood test immediately upon arrest.

Then once a week all the arrested drivers should be loaded up with alcohol until their blood alcohol matches the level they had when they were arrested. They should then be forced to race around a track with the slowest person getting double the penalty :D

It would pay for itself from the TV rights. I'd certainly tune in to watch these morons drive into walls and each other :D

damn that sucks.  two broken legs?  damn drunk drivers.

this last saturday at work there was an accident involving drunk driving.  lifeflight had to come and everything.  i swear, it pisses me off that people like that don't think about what the damage they could do to other people.  and it sucks how its the drunk drivers that usually get off with the least injuries, and the innocent victim that gets hurt the most/killed.

anyway, TCO, tell Tiara to get better soon, and that i hope to see her back here as soon as possible :)

This is why I'm reinforcing the first car I buy with Grade 12 Titanium panelling and frame reinforcements.

The car'll end up getting about 300ft to the gallon, weigh about 6 tons and have a max speed of 45mph but it'll tear through 4x4's like a hammer through tinfoil.

you need to put two of those souped-up Rolls Royce engines in it.  the ones with 2100 bhp.

or just buy a machine shop, and bore out your own engine block;7

I have my ways.

The hardest part would be finding a company willing to supply a private buyer with relatively large quantities of military grade building materials.

aside from finding a company and all, ain't that kind of begging for an Interpol file?

also, if the frame doesn't bend, you would have the slight issue of you going through the windscreen, or the seatbelt cuttting into you.....

No, there'd be a Grade 19 driver roll-cage and kevlar-strip seat-belts.

Besides, it'd be about 10 times as heavy as any other vehicle on the road and thus would suffer only a tenth of the sudden deceleration.

actually, the fact it bends is to first, ok, absorb shocks and second, to avoid being trapped ( and considering the thing, shredded to pieces, like it used to be with holder cars ) by large metalic parts. They bend in a "smart" way to keep a safe bubble for the driver ( well, supposedly ).

you're all worrying about if he crashes this thing... but look at the size and weight, that thing's not going to stop anytime soon.  it will go through a concrete wall with ease.

and even if you did "crash", you could hardly call it a crash, because the vehicle would be fine, but anything that went into it, or that it hit, would be pwned

Go the whole distance and run it on jet fuel. Its got 10 times more energy than petrol for the same mass, it'll solve ye olde acceleration problems.
