Cap ship sliding

It is possible?
As far as i know the fighters can use sliding, even in vanilla Fs2 (but only on higher difficulty level), but it is possible to make cap ship slide up-down, left-rigt without the need of turning?
I tryed give them slide movemebt values but that don't seem to work...

And again, it is possible to make fighters slide at novice difficulty too somehow?
