a few minutes ago i downloaded a file (a very old file) that's supposed to be an update to my Logitech Wingman Force joystick. I ran it and it said it's not compatible with current version of windows, so i ran it in XP compatibility mode. it ran fine, installed fine, but at the end it says it has to reboot the computer and that setup will commence after the reboot. well when it reboots, as soon as i log in, the whole computer goes very slow, and it loads (slowly) the "setup" (i guess to finish the joystick setup)... but then it says the same error as it did before i ran the .exe file in "compatibility mode": wrong version of windows... then it quits. it does this EVERY TIME i boot the computer, or log in as another user.
any ideas how to get this to go away as it's obviously lagging my whole computer down and i hate it!
