Erm, I think we may be talking about different games. Out of This World is the one that starts with the guy arriving at his lab during a storm, starting up a particle accelerator, and ending up in another dimension.

Flashback is the one in the future with the aliens where the guy gets his memory wiped. I don't remember Fade to Black, but I assume it's a sequel to Flashback?

And Another world is the real name since it's the french name and it's a friggin french game

Yeah, Fade to black is the sequel to flashback, which is, somehow the sequel to another world ( it's the same guy ), but wich, iirc, doesn't share the same plot. Fade to black was a tomb-raider like, but before tomb raider

Hm, okay, didn't know that. I always knew it as Out of This World. And I'm pretty sure that the true sequel for it was Heart of the Alien, which happens in the same world, has the same style, same aliens/characters, etc. But it was for the Saturn only, so I didn't have a chance to play it.

I played Flashback and Out of this World. I never finished either of them. The cool thing about them is that htey were small studio productions and made extensive use of rotoscoped animation and (in the case of OotW) vector graphics (not vector graphics like Star Wars, vector graphics like Quark Express and the like).

Groovy stuff. Better than the Prince of Persia 2d games, but not a patch on Sands of Time.

Another World was great, Flashback was great, Fade To Black was great but damn hard. I think it was one of the first games to use gouraud (sp?) shaded polygons.

I played Another World (it had the same name in the UK as in France) till I completed it. Loved that game and I agree that the plotline was much better PoP by a long way

Prince of Persia was an excellent game. The sequel was more of the same. PoP3d was an abyssmal failure. Prince of Persia Sands of Time was the greatest 3d platformer EVER. It not only lived up to the potential of the original, it surpassed it in EVERY POSSIBLE WAY. Given that the major factor in its success was the way SoT was developed (The designers got to, you know, design the game, instead of the suits, imagine that), I cannot imagine that UbiSoft would do anything to screw up a winning formula.

Without a doubt, this will be an excellent and utterly stunning game.

Couldn't have said it better myself. Not only was it fun, but it reeked of utter coolness beyond belief. The combat system was unbelievable.

I had a demo of the first level but I never got the game ufortunately. I'm severely tempted to get an Amiga emulator and a copy of the game though I would except I've promised myself to actually finish something MG related soon and I'd never stop if I installed one
