I´ve modified (in fact, i just did a little cut and paste action) the ships.tbl from the Derelict-campaign. So every ship with an afterburner is now producing these nice trails, while using it. I´ve also set the lifetime to 2, which means longer trails. Looks really quite nice.

Hmmm.. the authors of the campaign didn´t give me the permission to do so. So i don´t want to hurt anybodys feelings. If there is nobody, who says "don´t touch my work" maybe someone could say, where i can upload this little attempt to do somethig good to the community (´cause i have no webspace).

Just in case if you didn't get it or anything.

It seems that you can get around the table clutter pretty well!  That's pretty good for a start.  I started modifying tables first but soon learned to use 3D modeling programs.  So I sincerely suggest that you keep modifying tables until you get a reasonable amount of experience.  Then you can pick up one of the manuals out there on modeling ships and get started with one of the modeling programs.

You have potential, my friend.  And welcome to the HLPBB!  If you can, post the table code modifications here so people could look at it.  Also, don't worry about the copyrights on Derelict.  Really, don't worry!

oh, and even if they were to pull an atitude with you over this, they havn't been seen for about a year and a half (agertheronerhoweverhisnamewasspelled almost scence Derelict was relesed)

but this is a very open modding comunity, it's generaly the oposite of many other places were it's more oftine safe to mess with someone's work (so long as you agnoledge them) unless they specificly tell you not to.

Agatheron and Kellan worked on Derelict.  I tested for them.  So yeah, I suppose I'm the closest still active community member.  I haven't seen or heard from them much at all.  Agatheron once in the last year...busy as we all are, Kellan not for about 2 years.  Kellan was the original driving force behind BWO's story.

I'm not going to speak on their behalf, but I think what you've done is minor and as long as you don't claim that you made the campaign things would be ok.  We're fairly open around here generally anyways...
