Problem with Ending Mission
I've been running Taylor's latest build of FS_Open, and I'm experiencing a strange problem involving the main campaign mission "A Game of TAG."  Every time I try to jump out after successfully finishing the mission, FS_Open crashes to the desktop and gives the standard XP error report dialog box.  This happens using both DirectX and Open GL.  I've removed everything from my SCP folder except for the standard VP files and turned off every flag in the launcher, but still nothing.  Has anyone else experienced this problem?

P.S.  I've also noticed problems with mission loadouts.  Up until this point in the campaign, I've been unable to select Harpoons, even if they're allowed in a mission.  In fact, the one failed debriefing I got suggested using the Harpoon, even though it was not available in the loadout screen.  Is this a known bug?

P.P.S.  I'm vaguely aware that some formal system exists for reporting bugs, so I'm sorry if this post doesn't belong here.  I really don't have any idea how to do it the right way, and besides, I wanted to see if anyone else had experienced this problem.

In regards to the PS:

Sounds like a pilot error. I've had the same problems, and the only way I know of to fix it is to create a new pilot and use him :(

That's a typical response.  When in doubt, blame the problem on pilot error. :D :D

I'm on a mission just beyond that where you have to test the stealth fighters and then defend the Aquitane.  I complete all objectives and keep the aquitane above 50% when it jumps and when I try to jump if get a message like can't engage subspace engine or something like that.

This was a widely reported OSX bug in the icculus.org version but has since been fixed.  Unfortunately the fix is in FS2_Open CVS too so the fix may need a little fixing.  I think this is related to the "Enter the Dragon" crash in FSPort.  I'm pretty sure that all of this is because of my talking-head-memory-leak-fix.  That bug is filed in Mantis if you feel like adding a comment.  I'm going to put some energy towards fixing this in the next day or two.  Though it may not be a popular idea yet the obvious fix is don't use Windows, it works fine on everything else. ;)

That would be great and all, except for the fact that I don't own/have any desire to use any other OS except for Windows :p.

I'm suffering from this as well - have no clue what the hell is causing it or how to fix it - I dont want to loose my pilot!!

I don't know about you, but I've gotten really sick of the mission after playing it 10 times in a row :p.  Using cheating, I've been able to beat it in about a minute, before the dialogue with Kappa 3 even triggers :p.

Umm Singh the crash is not related to the pilot code, but the loadout problem are.

Probably should have mentioned this before - just turn off the talking heads in the HUD config and it should stop crashing.  That was the workaround for the OSX version.  When you've finished that mission it should (I think) be safe to turn them back on and finish the rest of the game.  That was the only mission in the OC in which users reported that crash.

And about the loadout problem, try hitting the Reset button in the weapon loadout screen.  It doesn't always work but it should restore the default available weapons.  Also, did this happen just all of a sudden when using my build or was this after a pilot upgrade.  If it happened after an upgrade then it was probably an already screwed up pilot file due to weapon table changing and you may need to make sure that the last used weapon table is available during the upgrade process or it can get the values wrong.  If it wasn't during upgrade then I need to know in case it's a bug in the new pilot code.

You're using 3.6 aren't you? Go to the latest builds forum and try out one of those builds instead of 3.6.

taylor, this happened all of a sudden while using your build.  I installed the SCP on my new PC and started playing the FS2 campaign from the beginning with a new pilot file and using your build.  I noticed the loadout bug a few times during the campaign, but this is the first time I've had major crash issues, at least in DX8.  Probably related to the loadout bug was a problem I experienced a few times in the mission "A Lion at the Door," where you have to stop Shivan ships that are coming through the Knossos.  Normally, the only available ship in this mission is the Herc 2, so you don't have to worry about the ship selection screen.  However, when I tried to hit "Commit," I got an error message saying, "Please select ship types for Alpha wing."  When I went to the ship selection screen, there were no ships selected for Alpha and none in the loadout bank.  Basically, there weren't any ships to select :p.  This bug went away as soon as it had appeared, so I never bothered posting about it.

No luck with turning off the head ANIs.  I should mention that the mission also crashes if I hit Escape during the briefing, and I think if I try to exit in-mission, as well.
