I'm not trying to be be funny or take the piss, but other than banning an0n and locking an0n's threads what does being an admin involve ? (this isn't some dodgy side ways application be an admin, I'm just genuinely curious)

No, it's basically trying to keep stuff in order. Locking threads when things get out of hand, managing the various forums, managing hosting issues and assorted amount of things we rarely hear about. Being an admin is as much working behind the seen as it is working with the community itself.
