Pencil and paper: Scalie (Furry-ish)
I drew this for a friend. I was bored, and I needed the practice anyway, but he liked it and that's all I care about.  It's been almost forever since I've drawn anything. Even longer for anything fur related, which I'm sure I'll hear all about, but I don't care, it's a part of who I am, and it's something I won't change for anyone.

Anyway, this came out looking like another artist's style, almost identically. I won't say who, I have my reasons.  Here it is, and yes, I know, I suck at drawing hands...

Awright... good drawing... I really need to learn how to draw.

Okay, raptors are always cool, but... hair?

Is that supposed to be male, or female...?

The hair.... is... well, that's my friend's char, so he has hair. :p

And yes. Male. It's a clean drawing (No genetalia :p) but the pose isn't perfect. And the 'hair' makes you think possibly female...

A Kowakian with tail . . .
Nice drawing, one of my classmates draw figures like that as well. He prefers drawing warriors from MAGUS/Lord of the Rings and he also draws Jedi. I wish I had a scanner . . . I could borrow one of his works and show it here . . .

I knew I shouldn't have put 'fur' in the title... Bah screw it.

I think I should have drawn the feet larger, and work on the hands more. Eventually I'll do an anatomy study and draw these trouble spots in larger detail and in different positions.

Thanks, everyone who commented. Your opinions mean alot to me. Really.

The reason I asked is...well, mainly that the body shape is somewhat androgynous, and while the face is clearly male, the posing is something I would expect for a female...so in essence, you managed to confuse me.

hrm, just some constructive critiscisim(sp?), you're running into the same problem that i had, (it's a habit that most artists develop) the head is a little large, next time, try making the base circle for the head a tad smaller than it is in this one..   trust me, it helps heaps..

it definitely looks male, the pecs give that much away, the form in the body itself is pretty good.. as it is reptilian.. reptiles don't have "dangly bits" as it were. :p

Alright, thanks for the response.

I actually didn't draw a base circle, but I guess that means I should, huh? ;) But yeah, come to think of it, it does look a bit large... Especially with such small hands... >.>  <.<

Hmmm. The thing that I noticed most is the arm - the shoulder looks dislocated! Dunno, it doesn't look quite right - as though it's too far behind the chest. (Does that make any sense at all???)

Perhaps try doing more "pedigree human" stuff ( :nervous::wtf: ), and then do this kinda thing once you've nailed that. Anthro stuff tends to be very much human first, with the animal bits arising from the standard human shape, rather than being major anatomical deviations.

I dunno, I can't draw for ****, so I'm probably not the person to give good/sensible advice. That's what I think, though, so if it helps, then it's all good. :)

structure is vitally important when drawing, humans, anthros... whatever.. it helps you to keep the proportions all kosher and stuff :p

I know. I used to draw that way. I don't know why I stopped. Laziness, I suppose.

Pyro: I think you're interpreting the angle wrong, it's more of a moved out... er.... I dunno, it looks OK to me. :p
Also, I don't draw humans. I refuse to. They come out looking... wrong. (Plus I think Humans in general are funny looking creatures)

I'll get more into the swing of things, and my drawings will look better. All things come with practice, right?

The hair is cool, but the tail...is too large.  Any creature like that, speaking from an evolution POV(I don't discount it's role, just it's primacy), would likely have a smaller possibly vestigal tail.  Unless it has/had some purpose like it's prehensile or has a defensive application like a stinger or something.
