I love the bloat! Gives it its uniqueness. Could use a little texture help, however, but that's been said.

There's also more possibility for variation... it needs to look a little more 'alien.' Take some of the perpendicular and straight edges and curl them around, twist it, curve it, distort it. Some subtle asymmetry might help as well, but don't make it look like it was made from boxes.

When someone said "bloated" all of a sudden I had an image of a bloated black widow, then it got me thinking of space elves (like Eldar from WH40K) but they worship Lolth from D&D.  Evil Space Drow!!!

suggested fantasy names:

  The Yochel class (after handmaidens of Lolth)

  Matron class (after matron mothers)

   just kidding....

I just had a thought.  Give it a shield mesh and it could be the ship that the Shivans originally sent to blast the Ancient's homeworld.  None of the cutscenes said that it was a Lucifer that did it, they only implied that the main cap ship or ships attacking had shields and used beam weapons.  This could have been a Juggernaught of that era.
