I'm doing this for a school project.
This is the background...mostly...done in terragen and some PS touchup at the moment.
Actual pixel size is 3300x5100

Except for the sky and lack of actual tree texture, it looks real.

Edit: To be more specific 'bout the water, there should be some sort of reflection of water on the hill...not sure you can do anything about that though.

it is rendered in Terragen, right? Is there an exporter to max available?

ya some in terragen and a bit in PS. I dunno about any exporters to max but if i'm sure there is one.

Max might be able to natively import terragen files, I'm not sure though.  I know something can.......
