Remember that really cool moving HOL logo in the FS2 techroom? Has anybody tried to make a moving wallpaper out of it?

And yes, you can have moving wallpapers in windows, I just don't know how. I think that it would look really cool.

"The reason for this is that the original Fortran got so convoluted and extensive (10's of millions of lines of code) that no-one can actually figure out how it works, there's a massive project going on to decode the original Fortran and write a more modern system, but until then, the UK communication network is actually relying heavily on 35 year old Fortran that nobody understands." - Flipside

  • huh?.. Who?.. hey you kids, git off me lawn!
it's gotta be a Gif image, or Flash...i think..

either way, the performance hit is not with the trouble.

To have a moving wallpaper, it  must be a GIF and activate the Active Desktop in Windows. It should work.

I figured as much, but has anyone tried to turn the techroom ani into a gif? Or does anyone know how?

And as for the performance hit, if it does impact gaming performance then just turn it off when you play games.

Turn the whole techroom as an animation would slow the machine enough to make you regret it ;) but just the logo... i dunno never tryed to do it.

I was talking about just the HOL logo. :p I thought it was really cool.

Here is another thought, how about turning the HOL logo into a screensaver (the logo ani, of course)? Can that be done for people who dont want a huge drag in their normal system performance.

I think that might end up being more practical. But does anyone know how to do it?
