Are these things still issues with 3.6.5 and the 1230 test build? What does 'and so on' mean?
Thx folks...
Basicly, if you want to play multiplayer.. use Tom's old engine build. if you really care about the things other builds come with, you can try it... but from what I've seen, some (most) MP missions have become unplayable+a lot of SCP players crash while loading or simply lag out. (though the last could also be coincidence) you mostly won't get any capship kills (since beam damage now also counts for kills, and friendly capships beam faster than you can bomb)
oh, and for the "just so-on", i'll put everything i know here:
(don't know what has been fixed and what not, so sorry if something is already fixed))
your fighter dies easier by ramming (paperplane effect)
Capships steal your kills
Missiles track like **** (this is actualyy worse than in SP, because of lag)
AI is harder (unbalances some missions)
AI fires Trebs (some missions become unplayable, especially escort missions)
more crashes while loading (actually one of the worst problems)
Also i believe that the new media VP tables aren't validated yet.
No alt-TAB, so if you get anything like an error, you're crashed out of the game, which is not only bad for you but also for the people you play with (games tend to get laggy and TVT's unbalanced)
That's all i can think of for now. I recommend creating a MOD-folder for MP, or simply a whole new clean seperate installation.
and before anyone starts flaming me... I love all the new eyecandy and stuf, and I don't really care about the bugs myself, but he wanted it listed, and i think it's bad to say he won't have any problems playing online with the newer builds and Media.
