Wow, so many Spaceballs votes. From this I can only conclude that--
1. You lot haven't seen many Mel Brooks films, or...
2. You all have a very, very lame sense of humor.

Seriously, even Airplane II was a better sci-fi spoof than Spaceballs, which was obviously written by someone who didn't know squat about sci-fi. And Men in Tights was even worse.

That being said--
1. Young Frankenstein
2. Blazing Saddles
3. The Producers
ZylonBane's opinions do not represent those of the management.

or maybe, *gasp*, different people have different tastes.

though to be fair, I've only seen Men in Tights and Spaceballs, so you're technically right.

I prefer to eat knives rather than subject myself to Mel Brooks.

Well now we know how YOU feel, as fro me I've seen some of his works (life stinks abd silent movie come to mind)... BUt I must say I did enjoy Space Balls. So it's a toss it for me between that and History of the World pt 1.

It always came off to me as an obnoxious Star Wars rather than a parody.

Blazing Saddles every time..

The Waco Kid: "Yes but I shoot with this hand"

Gang Boss: "If you could find it in your heart to hang this uppity n***** til he's dead"

Lily Von Schtup: "It's twue! it's twue!"

Sherrif: "Candygram for Mungo"

Gucci saddlebags, the orchestra playing in the desert, the toll booth, Mungo punching the horse, doing a number six, the Klan, etc. etc.

The best thing about it now it that it's old-school... and totally unacceptable to the politically correct, stick-up-ass censorship types we get now. :p
