That's a f**King good idea. I'm going to go propose it immediately.
Karajorma's Freespace FAQ. It's almost like asking me yourself.

With vanilla fred2 I could make a mission in few hours. And spend one full day (maybe two) playtesting and getting every minor detail the way I want. With fred2_open, I simply won't fred. I think you know why.

In other words, I haven't done a full mission in ages. I have to applaud my staff members who even dares to touch fred2_open and actually manages to pull of missions that can be released, not to mention campaigns.

since i'm a n00b FREDer and still learning, it takes me 11-15 hours.

I actually kind of like the FRED2_Open SEXPs. But, due to graphics card errors, well, you get the picture.

I wept. Mysterious forces beyond my ken had reached into my beautiful mission and energized its pilots with inhuman bomb-firing abilities. I could only imagine the GTVA warriors giving a mighty KIAAIIIIIII shout as they worked their triggers, their biceps bulging with sinew after years of Ivan Drago-esque steroid therapy and weight training. - General Battuta

Depends on the mission.

Average around eight hours, probably.

Wait....Lightspeed....can FRED? In eight hours? AND do all that impressive shiney-glowey stuff too?
