It isn't that great. It has a certain novelty about it, but it gets boring after the first twenty or so games because after that there's absolutely nothing you haven't done.

actually it is legally free now they are just too lazy to take down the buy now link.
The whole reason the thread got STICKIED on the general discussion forum(by the officials) is because the buy now link wouldn't send you the cd key after purchase and so they decided it was not worth the hassle to take it down versus taking down the autherization server and as for the cd key you can now actually just use a bunch of 0's (roughly the same amount as the other keys), that was certainly NOT a feature when the game came out but it is now so obviously it is legal they just gave up on updating it and left it to the community to do, which they have made bounds and leaps since it was left in their hands.
And ransom, this game obviously isn't for everyone, i've played games that people have thought to be all amazing like UT and i think its boring after the first 10 minutes as well.
And the best part is that it doesn't get boring to me after 20 or 100 games. Just like playing freespace after 20 games didn't get boring despite how well your "there's absolutely nothing you haven't done" applies to freespace or just about ANY other game out there. In fact you haven't even scratched the surface of the game if you really think that after 20 games there's nothing you haven't done.
How many other games out there let you sneak/fight/siege your way into your enemies base and start taking down their tech so the next thing they know is that they are coming at you with low tech weapons while u still have the high tech ones and then suddenly they sneak up on your base and cripple you right back cuz your team didn't scout well enough.
Pfft, and thats only 1 of a ton of strats. Also unlike many other online fps's this one has a TON of maps in rotation and for a new person it would seem like there's an endless amount of them until after a good few months you get used to it.
Anyways don't put any game like that down unless it crashe's on you every few min and is boring as hell, cuz most games out there haven't come even slightly close to savage, maybe not graphically wise but in every other aspect i think it makes it one of the most innovative games out there since doom and warcraft because it practically took the two together and put them together....ok now i feel more like im advertising but thats only cuz you got me started on saying something like that

My point was that generally multiplayer only games add new things as it gets older, yet this one doesn't. It is quite fun for a while, it just didn't have any lasting appeal for me. It was fun while it was in beta testing, cause then new things kept getting added and changed all over the place, but now it just feels static.

Actually i am
Currently I'm playing the new kick arse(and god its fun) star wars commando's. I think the multi player aspect of it will suck(although i haven't played it yet) but the single player is just awesome, the music is amazing too, i ripped it and having it in my music list now
Also im playing the sith lords, thats not so fun and kind of a let down...also buggy as hell, i may just dump it and not finish it too...
lastly im also playing xenosaga2 which by far sucks REALLY REALLY BAD and its a really big BIG dissapointer i wish i could return it cuz yuck yuck! the music is some crazy techno japanese garbage that makes me want to tear my hair out and the voice acting sounds like the ppl just wanted to get it over with...plus the battle system is terrible cuz it feels like every fight is like a boss fight...which is retarded cuz imagine the boss fights!

Ya so those are the other games i'm playing. and other then the occiasional crash that commando's gives me i know savage doesn't crash on me and when those other games piss me off enough cuz of the garbage i come across i just play savage....albeit it may look like i have a lot of time but in actuality i just have different games for different moods that i'm in. And maybe i say half of them suck cuz i haven't really given them a real chance yet. Only played xenosaga for an hour or so and im TRYING to convince myself that it will get better but haven't touched it in almost a week now

Anyways, maybe im just addicted to savage or something cuz i just keep coming back for more
