I've tried time and time again, and, alas, i cannot get the -mod function to work for FRED!

i copied the -mod command from the launcher to the FRED target box in properties, and nothing happens. no new ships. nothing.

HELP!

I wept. Mysterious forces beyond my ken had reached into my beautiful mission and energized its pilots with inhuman bomb-firing abilities. I could only imagine the GTVA warriors giving a mighty KIAAIIIIIII shout as they worked their triggers, their biceps bulging with sinew after years of Ivan Drago-esque steroid therapy and weight training. - General Battuta

I've never had any trouble whatsoever with FRED's mod flag.  You're not using a shortcut to an old version of FRED (i.e. before -mod was around), are you?

EDIT: Paste everything in the shortcut target box here.  That'd at least be slightly more informative than "It won't work!"

Just do this.

Make a shortcut to fred, then right click the shortcut, and make it look like this:
