That's not merly film, manga or anime - it's hard core literature that bangs in your brain and hard wires some profound and shaking realizations.

Well, I wouldn't go quite that far.  Shirow has some very interesting ideas but sometime he fails to articulate them well.  That may be the result of translating them out of the original Japanese language and social matrix.  However its still much more thought-provoking than most manga.

Shame he's too busy doing incredibly shiny 2D/3D porn these days.

Agreed, although I guess it depends on what kind of views one harbors about war.

Fact is, some people are special or well trained to be special (In this case both Zechs and Heero), and they'll be the ones to excel the most. Giving them Gundams with the highest armament is sort of to be expected.

You'll have to look around for the Shirow artbooks, as the site I got them from doesn't have torrents listed any more.   It had all the Intron Depots as well as the various lesser-known artbooks.
