OK i have all the stuff set up and i have an acount, now when i try to play multi it says it can not connect to fsnetd.  is it down?

Hopefully soon. In the meantime a tournament is being set up so you should be able to find some people to play an IP game with on that day at the very least

The info is in the FAQ now actually. Check the gameplay section under the "I want to play on a LAN" heading. I suppose I should edit that to include internet IP games explicitly.
