I'm bumping my own thread....
I recently got a hold of several meshes (some new) and tried to texture them myself. had some wierd problems with what is showing up. I use paint over existing material but instead of the pattern showing up on the section only a pixel of the color of the map is shown all over that area. IE, instead of blue diamond plate hull I get pure blue... WTH am I doing wrong?
I used trueview to choose entire sections of the ship and used paint over eixisting material to make things easier on me. This is what I got:

This is NOT the Borodino, but the ARIZONA class. They just look similar but have more armaments (when completed those angled turrets will be fixed single parts NOT rotating)...
It's been some time so if any new people here like old anime of space battleships like StarBlazers or Harlock, (or even the newer ones like Nadesico and Tylor) and if you got any skills then please let me know!!!
I desperately need a modling GURU to work on Yamato. It has a multitude of problems but the end result will be worth it. (the 6k version I have the file Earlier in this thread for download with proper textures).
If anyone wants a go at simple texturing (for placeholders as I will go back and find correct looking ones) let me know and I will send you the meshes.
Also I need a light modler to be able to seperate the turrets fromt eh ships (right now some of these models are one) and I need them to be turned into funtional rotating turrets. I will send the meshes that need this also.
For those keeping count the new meshes are:
Lexington class (carrier I really dont like and probably wont use unless the rear gets remodled, it's too plain IMHO even if it is cannon)
The Lightning class (Derrick Wildstar's brothers ship, the Paladin was this class!)
and the Arizona (heavy battleship)
The rest in the KA pack I got I already had in more complete stages (see earlier posts for what is already in mod).
