Super bright semi-transparent ships?
Does anyone know how to fix this problem? The textures on the ship are really bright, almost pure white in any kind of light. Also the ship appears to be semi-transparent.

The geometry has had an interesting life. It came from Max and was turned into a pof via the max pof exporter plugin. Then converted back to a cob for use in truespace. Then back to a pof and into the form you see now.

Still I'm not sure how relevant any of that should be, it's just geometry afterall. Should it really matter where it came from?

Why did you convert it to TS?

I couldn't make the pof we got out of the max pof exporter work completely. There were various little things wrong with it and when I tried to correct those and save it out of PCS, PCS would crash and corrupt the POF. So I took it into truespace and set it up in there so I could do a PCS_facet cob to pof conversion and get a POF that PCS was happy with and I could fix up.

I know you can get odd errors from importing 3ds into TS (plus you get vertexes being split because of the lack of multiple UVs per object); I'm not sure if the same can occur from pof, though (particularly as max2pof doesn't use the 3ds format and thus works with an unsplit model).

I can see that something is wrong in that, but I can't quite get my eyes  to figure out what. (I only awoke about 5 minutes ago).

It does look like inverted vace orientations, though... in that last pic.

Could the wierd transparency (seen where the wing meets the .. erm... thing at the end of the wing, at the bottom of the last picture) be caused by the zbuffer? There appears to be substancial zbuffer tearing.
