freighter missing? Not anymore!
Anyone notice one very unlogical thing in FS2.

Remeber all those carge depots you have seen? Remember all those TTC containers?

Well, where the heck are the ships to carry them? Tritons carry TC-TRI and Poseidon carrier the TCs.. Ever tried givem them to carry the TTC? Looks dumb..realyl dumb.

What is missing is that coll freighter from FS1 (whose name I cannot remember)

So i tried using the Amazon Advanced drone - and boy what sloppy work!
The cargo dockpoint is 20m aove the hull, as are the thruster. The other dockpoint is  deep inside the hull, and it system wereen't done propoerly.

So I decided to intervene.  I edited the texture a bit, fixed the PCS mistakes and added 3 turrets to it.

Since I couldn't remember hte name of hte FS1 one, I just named it Ulmo (LOTR freaks will know who that is! :D)

Under >>More Stuff<<.. Enjoy

Chronos, IIRC

I was thinking of attempting the HTL treatment with it, as it happens.

Or you can pull the Chronos from the FSPort, since they have it.  There's another Terran freighter in FS1 that was never used, but looks pretty cool.  Goes with the first container in sparky_fs2.vp, though I don't know if it has a table entry.

I had Ulmo down as the badass of the Valar, so I would've held the name for something a bit more brutal than a cargo ship.

It makes sense in terms of the sea-god theme, though, so yeah... :)

That "spare freighter" looks vasudan to me.

Granted, but there were many more badass - like Orome or Tulkas.

B.t.w. - I just noticed stupid PCS didn't save my latest changes (turret 3 is not flagged undes subobjects as missile turret and won't wrok... and the tbl entry sez Fighter Killer.with a space..that's wrong too. I'll re-upload the stuff)

Are you refering to the Bast Freighter?  1. It's Vasudan, 2. It's completely unarmed, 3. It was in fact used during the 3rd regular mission of FS1, when you attack a Vasudan shipyard.  There's an unarmed Ma'At and a Bast there.

The Bast could actually pass for a hybrid actually.  If it weren't clearly marked in the FS1 Tables as Vasudan.  Or... if it didn't exist during the T-V war....

Pretty big set of ifs', that.....

The older freighters could probably do nicely as civvie transports, if you jimmy-ed up a special cargo crate for it (to look like a proper civvie transport module with windows and stuff).
