I know how to play... but I only know the rules based on the 1974 World Tournament, unfortunately, so I won't be of any use.

It's a rather complex game played among a group of friends or on a forum.  Essentially each person names a station on the London Underground (the subway system in London) and the object is to get to Mornington Crescent.

I don't know how widely known it is; I just figured out how to play only recently.  It takes a while to learn.

I haven't gotten to sponning yet, so perhaps we should stick with the original rules and leave it out entirely?

Unless, of course, there are other more skilled players here, in which case I'd be happy to simply sit back and watch instead.
