Well, a bit late but I finally watched this, the acting and humour were not quite my cup of tea all the time, but since it's a fan film, I can easily forgive that, specially since my idea of funny would be flashing the warp nacelles for turning etc

The special effects and space battles.....wow! To be honest, Universal Studios could learn a LOT about doing space battles from these guys, pure quality.

WHOA. Best. Space Battle Scenes. EVAR.  Hands down.

The rest of the movie was pretty funny, too.  Not laugh-a-minute, but not bad.
