Yes, i was told to enter the FRED Academy, but the requrements are that I make the tutorial mission....  i am doing that but now im stuck...  2 things:  1) The GTFR Pelican wont dock with the freight!!!  I gave it the right commands, as the tutorial says, but it just sits there when it tested it.....  2)  the two NTF cruisers i put dont move at all.....  gave them the right commands too (dont think there are any).  oh one more thing) nothing shows up when i test the mission except for the GVT Amazonia, Alpha 2, 3, and 4, the Jump Node, and the two NTF cruisers...  is this right?  or is everything supposed to be shown?

Ill say one thing tho, this FREDing thing sure is fun!!!  Im hittin problems and Im still havin fun doin it!!

P.S. One more question, does Freespace 1 have a FRED?  I dont think it does, but even if it did, i dont think it would serve much purpose anymore, considering FRED for FS2 is here..

Well first off, welcome to the world of FREDing, and to HLP.  Now, onto the hard issues.

Now, I'm assuming this is either a Poisiden class freigher or a triton.  In either case, I do have to ask what they're trying to dock with.  If its either the triton container or the big square one, you did set each ship's initial orders to dock with the cargo, I assume.

For the cruisers, what are their orders, specifically.  If its to attack fighters, you're going to find that doesn't work very well.  The cruisers tend to ignore orders like that.  I know from experience how frustrating that can be.

I require a bit more information before I can really get down to helping you, but to answer at least one of your questions, yes, FS1 has FRED.

well, to start, its a triton class freighter.....  its trying to dock with a TC-TRI container.......  the commands are as follows...  

op:  has-dock-delay
        GTFR Pelican
        TC-TRI 9
        1
        0

Initial orders are as follows: Dock, TC-TRI 9, Cargo Dock 01, Cargo Dockpoint, 50 (thats priority)

I assume thats correct....

if you want, i can email u what i have done, and see whtas wrong with it....

I still dont know what to do with the cruisers....  one is an Aeolus class, and one is a leviathan....  thats most of the info, again, let me know if you want me to email u the mission....

I'm not sure if docking works with initial orders. Might be wrong tho.

If you can e-mail me your mission ([email protected]), I'll take a look at it. With what you've said, I can see no reason for the Pelican won't dock. You're still a little vague on the cruisers, though.

the cruisers arent doing anything because they're orders are to attack ring 1, but ring one doesnt show up when i test the mission, neither does the arcadia, or any other ship except for alpha wing (4 erinyes), a triton, and an Isis class freighter (i think its a freighter....

I would post an example test-mission, but I found that it doesn't work.  I hope your problem gets worked out.

Ah, found your problem. After popping it open in FRED2, I found what I thought would be the problem. More than half of your arrival cues are set to false, which means that the ships won't appear. Simply set them all to true and the delay to 0 seconds, and they should all appear right where you put them.

hey again........  im having more trouble with my tutorial mission....  Im going to email it to nuclear, but ill explain my problem....  when the two NTF cruisers jump in, thay just IMMEDIATLY destroy the GTFR Pelican....  Im not sure what to do anymore, so i think i may just start from scratch....  hope this helps...

EDIT:  the aeolus cruiser attacks the freighter, the Leviathan attacks ring one....  The Aeolus goes 30 speed, the leviathan goes 10, they both supposed to go ten....

P.S. is there a website that has step by step tutorial missions for FRED2?

Is this the tutorial from the help files? When I first played with FRED2 and doing that I remember it being broken. I learnt FRED by just messing abut with it, and looking at the [V] missions helped.
