Recently I finally had some time to reinstall FS, and test out the recent CVS builds along with the MediaVP.

However the launcher always tells me an 'interesting' error message:
'DirectX 9.1 not installed. D3D9 options unavailible'.

That's fine and dandy as I have a GF4-MX (yuck) which won't support it anyway.
However, where the hell did .1 came from?:wtf:
"I was going to become a speed dealer. If one stupid fairytale turns out to be total nonsense, what does the young man do? If you answered, “Wake up and face reality,” you don’t remember what it was like being a young man. You just go to the next entry in the catalogue of lies you can use to destroy your life." - John Dolan

I don't know what's going on, but for the record, I didn't do it.

I think that the current Launcher has the start of DX9 support, though it doesn't actually work.  DX9 support in the Launcher is not supposed to be compiled in for that reason but I guess it was.  I'm pretty sure that the code was just a copy&paste from the DX8 code and the DX8 code has 8.1 in that error message.  I suppose all that happened was that the 8 got changed to a 9 and the rest left as it was.

In any case you are getting the message in error and should just ignore it.

Incidentally, who do I talk to about getting D3D9 support in the launcher?
