Learn to map soon, here's a Tutorial MS3D
I've been doing a LOT fo ST covnersions lately and it seems that the registries are backwards 90% of the time (an EASY fix if teh registry/nameplate is a seperate textuyre, just flip it horizontal or vertically and save!) BUT if the words/numbers are part of another texture not centered BIG PROBLEM! SO I have wondered about trying to map the blank Starlancer models I have to start out with using FS2 textures. I found this neato tutorial for Milkshake and though I only understand about HALF of it I figured others just learning also would find it useful IF they use MS3D also! L8tr all!

I still need to find a tutorial about how to break a model that is over 850 polygons into one or more subobjects for PCS!!!

[EDIT] sorry, I don't know HOW I missed putting this in earlier!  http://www.psionic.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/tutorials/lowpoly/zuvm.html

Don't think of it as being outnumbered. Think of it as having a wide target selection !

Very nice to have access to, indeed.

Although I already know how to UV, and make custom maps for my vessels now...
