Question for wEvil about Hades re-skin

wEvil, I saw a while ago on your site what loked to ba a re-skin of the Hades, with a lot more detail added. You had a render of the thing where it looked really, really huge, and I was wondering what the story was behind the reskin... did you do it with the goal of making the game's scale seem larger, etc?

Ooo...a thread all addressed to me  

hrmm...was that a cilla reskin?

i was just messing with textures, but yea..I have this horrible habit of comparing game models to movie models.

So i jumped in, got my hands dirty and just changed it a bit.  

I wont say i made it better because i dont think it does :P

ahh..i was experimenting with changing the textures and adding bits on here and there.

The scaling bit it where i lifted one of the shivan fighters texture and planted it on the larger ship, made it looks fairly good i thought.

As for the actual FS2 textures they do have quite alot of detail on them that just doesnt come out when its' mapped onto the ships, sadly

It's the engine. Maybe IW2 is better - as soon as we get the SDK, I'm going to put models into Flux and see how they go. BoE!

I hope you tweak the way the ships handle too, I know all you guys like it but I hought it was 'orrible (IW2 that is)

WTF? You thought IW2 was horrible?! I mean... WTF?!

What was bad about it? The awesome graphics, the great storyline or the amazing gameplay?

i didnt like the physics engine, nope..i found it hard to get to grips with.

plus i didnt think the graphics were all *that* brilliant, maybe its just me but they looked pretty blurry and glowy.

I dunno..i might load up the demo again and take another look.

yes, the real physics lol, he was clear enough I think  
I don't really know, my only experiment (the demo, which worked 2 times then never again) was quite pathetic...

Oh, btw, OT question (talking of demos), did someone tried the Alien vs Predator2 demo? I'm already stuck, and I haven't shoot at a single alien yet  . At the begining, I go through a hole in the roof, than another one ( I think they blasted a big alien there lol) then I find a corridor with 4 doors, the one the room I land in (full of crates, but nothing else), a second room with a computer which clearly needs an access card, and two other locked doors... what I am supposed to dooooooooooooo? Coz believe me, in the space, people can hear me scream when I'm fed up of something
