Bluetooth Audio Extension "Cord"?

Does anyone know of a BlueTooth system that basically acts as an extension cord for an audio signal? I.e. you plug one end into a MP3 player or audio source, attach the other end to a belt clip and plug in the headphones of your choice. Also, does anyone know of audio quality and/or delay involved in BT transmissions?

Actually, yes, there is something like that. I stumbled on it when looking for reviews on a pair of Bluetooth headphones at Circuit City. I thought the idea was pretty silly and not very useful, but I guess not.

Regardless, from what I know there's some decrease in audio quality (exact amount unknown) and there wasn't really any mention of delay. IIRC the system covered in the review (along with the one I was actually looking up) was iPod-only.

Get a bluetooth adaptor for your PC, get a Pocket PC with bluetooth, use Bluetooth networking and play the files straight off the computer from the Pocket PC.

Failing that, I think there's something to do with Bluetooth Audio Gateway.  I really havent played around with BT either much, but I know there's gotta be something like a set of Bluetooth headphones that will connect to an audio gateway which would be supplied by a USB Bluetooth adaptor.  That is if you only use your PC for an audio source.  This would be ideal around the house actually, but if your audio source needs to be ultra portable, I wouldnt have any idea.  Besides, if your MP3 player is portable, why not get a case or some sort of belt clip for the MP3 player and run the cord underneath your shirt so it doesnt dangle and get caught on things?

I was asking for a friend; turns out it was for a makeshift in-ear monitor system, not for an MP3 player.
