Oh boy... Perhaps making an absurdly inflamatory sarcastic remark was not such a good idea...
I'm indeed Pro-American, and I support what the US government is trying to do, but I detest the way it is being done. I think most people fall under this category, and rightly so. There are people that hate upon the US for no other reason than their disagreements with UN policy, and likewise people hate the UN for disagreements with US policy. This favoritism is valid; illogical and sometimes stupid, but valid. During the days of the communist bloc, we were the "bad guys" to them, and they to us. Most of the rest of the world didn't care. It's all relative to a person's point of reference.
As for the US government and UN as of now, there is more than enough reason to dislike either/or. No, I don't believe the UN should really be disbanded (that was an obvious exageration), I believe it needs reform more than anything else. Same goes for the US. There is corruption in both parties, and there is stubbornness in both parties, and I don't see either one going away any time soon. But when they do, and only when they do, the US and UN can be on the same page, if not the same book.
EDIT: Or maybe I'm thinking of the EU...
