Yea i started the level, I cant get through it...  you start out with an M4 and 10 shots for it...  kinda retarted..
I checked the gamespot guide for far cry for some help, but it didnt really help that much...  I found a few more gamefaqs and that might do the trick...  I just wanted to know if anyone knew how to get through the Dam Level...  if you do, could you post instructions????

Also, does anyone here subscribe to IGN's Insider?  I want the IGN guide for far cry, but I dont have a subscription....  if someone was able to get the far cry guide here: http://guides.ign.com/guides/482383/index.html and download it into PDF format and email it to me @ [email protected], I'd really appreciate it.....

dam, that its a holy **** stupid level, i the first segment of the level.

i had it only one time accomplish without cheating and this was the first time as i played the game.
the other trails, i failed every time.

the first time i ran in the river and dive at any possible place, but i think you need for this a very good timing or the tregens kill you.
and i dont have find the timing a second time, again.

i try it many ways, at last i have cheat and run through the the segment to the dam its self and rearmed me.

so i can only give you the tip: use the cheat's.

you are not the first human and you are not alone, the most players of farcry have cheat in this level, and i think you dont the last person.

Nah, it's not that hard once you know what you're doing. There's a downed helicopter somewhere - get to that. Don't try killing anything before that unless you absolutely have to - you'll need to get headshots or you'll burn through the ammo on one or two targets. At the chopper I think there's some ammo, but I know it's got a machine gun you can use to hose down anything that might have been chasing you. Then just get to the fortified wall thingy as quickly and quietly as you can - try not to attract the Trigens' attention until you get there. Snipe any guards on top of the wall itself, and get into the room underneath it - there's a shedload of armour, weapons and ammunition in there.

I can't be more exact than that, as it's been months since I've played the game at all, let alone that level. But it's perfectly do-able.

the problem is come to the heli.

there are a lot of trigens, and they are faster as the player can run.
and they kill you with one hit, then you havnt any armour.

I hate this stupid level. The monkey at the beginning is easy enough, but wading through the river on a higher difficulty is just dumb luck; you have to reload and retry it like 30 times to get it right. Once you're past that part, the rest is straightforward.

Did anyone ever try going through the right half of the jungle below the waterfall instead of the left?

i got through it....  heres what i did so you people can use this technique....

I left the tridgen at the top, and jumped off into the dam....  After I jumped off, the fat boys and tridgens detected me, so I ran off shore to a hill RIGHT on top of the water (small hill, its not hard to get up there)...  The Fat Boys are so freakin dumb that they start to run into the water to get me, of course fat boys forget that they cant swin, so they drown....  I had about 3 or 4 fat boys run into the water and die....  the fifth one was running out of the water and got stuck behind a dead fat boy floating in the water, so I just ran for it (oh, a tridgen was also stuck behind another fat boy...  I swear i could have stood there for an hour and they wouldnt come and attack  HAHA!!)

At last I made it to the helicopter, and voila!  take that minigun and start killing those mutations!!!

EDIT:  Oh, and I DIDN'T CHEAT!!!  And I beat the game.... 
Does anyone know if a Far Cry 2 is supposed to be coming out?  I did post a cryengine 2 video, but someone on another forum said that it wasnt for far cry...  i dont buy that...  If you go on IGN and search for Far Cry, you will get a result saying Far Cry Expansion Title for PC and a few other Xbox (and 360) games....  anyone have info on these?

Far Cry 2 is being made, but not by Crytek as they have split with Ubisoft (who own the Far Cry trademark) and are now being published by EA.

Never do that on your regular job. If you are part time or visting someplace, then look for useful looking stuff. Like pencils someone left lying around, or cool looking paperclips hanging on tha announcment board... Anything that youd expect to find in someones desk but is not in its place. That way no one knows that you did it because chances are that the particular item is missing anyway.

And Crysis looks freakin' awesome. I hope Ubi makes Far Cry 2 with CryEngine 2, seeing as the Far Cry engine is definitely showing it's age in the shots of Far Cry Instincts "Next Chapter" (what a dumb name...).
