Okay so I've done the tutorial, and I've also downloaded a few other FRED files to see how other people make missions. But my question is...

Where do I put the FRED file? I try using the Launch Freespace option in FRED, but it doesn't work. So I put the file in My Documents, ran Freespace 2, and no mission in the Tech Room. Where do i put it?

I have FS2 retail, and FS2 Open 3.67

Thanks

Alright try this.  Make the said mission in fred.  Save said mission in the freespace/data/missions folder.
Now, go into FS (either original or FSO assuming no mods or anything involved in the mission) and go to the tech room.  Then go to missions.  Then at the bottom you'll see the campaigns/single missions tabs.  Click on the single missions tab and you should see it.

Then click on the mission you made and hit go/commit then test.
Cause what you got is what we need and all we do is dirty deeds!

and if you start fredding with multiple mods enabled, put the mission in a ["mod"]/data/mission/ folder of the mod folder you're playing with. That way you don't accidently launch a mission with the wrong ships.

worked like a charm, thanks guys

Well I've been back maybe a week, so I don't think I'm the one who should be hauling out the beam.
