I'd be more concerned that the interface is optimised and loading times reduced as much as possible. That's my great beef with BF2. It might look pretty but it sure as hell beats your system into submission to do it.

Indeed the loading times and expecially the client verification times can be really frustrating. Wonder if it were possible to make the server verify the client the same time it loads up the map on th eclient end... would it be that difficult.
Habeeb it...

Wasn't Op: Flashpoint on the xbox hideously ugly and horribly delayed?

wasn't hideously ugly, it was hideously old. it was made before the xbox was even released.

Elite version is quite stripped down, suffers from several problems and above all lacks modability. OFP is alive and kicking well today just because there's such a huge amount of additional content being released. Elite was just "meh", I don't know if it even includes Resistance or even Red Hammer and I didn't enjoy it. For a complete OFP novice it might be fine, but you can just grab the ooooold GotY edition with RH and Res for like 10 bucks, DL a ****load of mods and vehicles and guns and missions and explosions!, and then play for years to an end.
lol wtf

The giant mechs looks awesome but the game itself  looks like a reskinned bf2. Besides they just released Bf2 around last year!  I think they should fix the bugs of their older games before they go out and make new sequels.

I have better hopes for Enemy Territories: Quake Wars.

I totally agree with you. First of all, the BF2 engine does not impress me, and I've got the settings turned up to the max. It seems like EA and DICE are just out to make a quick buck now. Although, let's be honest with ourselves; it was only a matter of time before a futuristic Battlefield game was announced.
