First off, a minor warning: this IS an Atrocity of design - to me at least. So consider this as a minor ugliness warning.

This definately is one of the most random peaces of work that I have ever produced. It sort of 'evolved' on it's own while I was listening to the Still Seeing Breen music video, and I sort of let it grow. I really dont know what the hell inspired it, or how it got to where it is, but well, i'll let it speak for itself.

Oh, and comparing it to the Colossus wont prove your point, since I already know it to be true. I have NO idea how it came out to look to similar, but yeah, little choice in the matter :p

And yes, I AM aware that it suffers from the dreaded AC Sillehness. I'll put up an un-turretted model a bit later - this is just random turreting. I still havent put in the AA turrets, which is going to be a polygon producer.

Total length: ~5 clicks.

If you got rid of the big square thing on the bottom, and fixed the front it wouldn't look half bad :)

If that is ugly, I want to see something good!  My only suggestion is about the curved connection strip on the bottom; remove it.  While from below it looks great, it looks horrible from the side.

It looks like a large gun of sorts.
Wash: This landing's gonna get pretty interesting.
Mal: Define "interesting".
Wash: *shrug* "Oh God, oh God, we're all gonna die"?
Mal: This is the captain. We have a little problem with our entry sequence, so we may experience some slight turbulence and then... explode.

Actually, I kinda like the big 'Gun Rack' thing on the bottom, it's utilitarian without any concern about aesthetic value. A lot of our modern fighters/boats looks 'graceful' simply because they are pushing their way through a medium and need least resistance, I'd expect spacecraft to be far less 'pretty' ;)

Actually, this among your first ship models that doesn't suffer from The Dreaded AC SillinessTM.

Explain yourself, dear sir. How can that not suffer from the silliness?

As has been stated before, the Dreaded AC SillinessTM is a description used to identify things which do not appear able to physically carry the ammunition/generate the energy for their weapons. While certainly approaching the Dreaded AC SillinessTM, this ship could in fact carry the ammunition for its weapons.

Just not much of it.

I fully agree whole-heartedly with the above statement. :)

"...The quintessential quality of our age is that of dreams coming true. Just think of it. For centuries we have dreamt of flying; recently we made that come true: we have always hankered for speed; now we have speeds greater than we can stand: we wanted to speak to far parts of the Earth; we can: we wanted to explore the sea bottom; we have: and so  on, and so on: and, too, we wanted the power to smash our enemies utterly; we have it. If we had truly wanted peace, we should have had that as well. But true peace has never been one of the genuine dreams - we have got little further than preaching against war in order to appease our consciences. The truly wishful dreams, the many-minded dreams are now irresistible - they become facts." - 'The Outward Urge' by John Wyndham

"The very essence of tolerance rests on the fact that we have to be intolerant of intolerance. Stretching right back to Kant, through the Frankfurt School and up to today, liberalism means that we can do anything we like as long as we don't hurt others. This means that if we are tolerant of others' intolerance - especially when that intolerance is a call for genocide - then all we are doing is allowing that intolerance to flourish, and allowing the violence that will spring from that intolerance to continue unabated." - Bren Carlill

I think that looks great.  It looks more unique than alot of larger vessels I've seen (nobody take offense to that).

Re: An Atrocity of Design
Okay, this is a little old topic but I'd like to say my opinion regardless...

My first impression was an unpainted Colossus 2 - this time with enough turrets for its size.  :D
There are three things that last forever: Abort, Retry, Fail - and the greatest of these is Fail.
