Taxpayers funding Evangelism In Prisons

I agree that prisons should be a place of reform, not simply place of captivity.... But this is not the "reform" I had in mind. More cannon fodder for Jesus's Army I'm afraid, and many of these prisoners are obviously violent. I guess they need less officers to brainwash the masses and more actual troops to do the "fighting", perhaps literally.

Goes to show. You put garbage in, you get garbage out.

Well, what is the success rate of the program. In other words do these people have any better chance of return than others?

It's simply Christians being Christians. We want to...enlighten I guess is the proper term. The interesting thing is that this blurrs the line between Church and State (or steps over it).

The Sucess rate is a subjective judgement based on how one defines "sucess". I suppose it depends on weather the inmate is of that specific religion to begin with.

Y'know, if I were a Christian, i'd be mighty unsettled by the obvious diluting of my faith via the indoctrination of murderers and rapists.

Frankly, I don't care who you are or what you believe; indoctrination in all its forms is both sick and detrimental to society.

I'm a Christian, and it _does_ unsettle me. Too close to the church/state boundary for my tastes.

Musim extremists first convert people then make them violent. I guess the Christian extremists are looking to get the upper hand here. Saving time and effort. Clever, clever.

I agree, determining any sort of link would be difficult. But the question is still valid from a pragmatist POV.

Re: Taxpayers funding Evangelism In Prisons
oh well, if i ever find my way into one of those prisons, at least i'll be able to properly lie my way out of any unpleasantness involved.

those are the sorts of people that i would actually feel good lying to, considering how much they lie themselves (i.e. god exists)
