In my search to get a broadband connection to my new home, these two things caught my eye. I was wondering if anyone had any info on them. I am quite interested in them.

BPL is Broadband Power Line.  Essentially broadband over your power lines.  It's pretty reliable I would assume.  That is, as long as your power is reliable.

Thanks for the WIMAX page Swantz. Now to see if I can get either. If I can't, I'll be stuck with dial-up for a long time, at least until broadband access is considered a utility. That won't happen for a few years at least.

To be honest, I highly doubt either is offered where you live.  The BPL thing is a possibilty, but still highly unlikely.

Guess I'm SOL. I can get satelite but its not worth the cost for such a crappy connection. Swantz, don't expect to see me on ZD for another year or two. No matter how much I try to play, I can't get a ping under 350. Hopefully in the next year or so I'll have service or I'll have my own place. I hope to one day move back to Rhode Island. I miss my friends and family that live there.
