Is it, therefore, a bad idea to ask exactly what those numbers mean?

Heh, heh... The decimal (base-10, regular numbers) versions are: 0070, 0083, 0051.
Now, open Notepad (Start - Run - notepad , press Enter), and, using your NumPad keys (NumLock on/off doesn't matter):
Hold down your alt key while pressing 0070, then release it.
Hold down your alt key while pressing 0083, then release it.
Hold down your alt key while pressing 0051, then release it.
Now, I double-dog dare you to ask what those symbols mean.
